2026 Illustrated Haiku "Just A Gnome" Calendar
Illustrations by OK island (she/her), and haikus by her dear pal Naomi (she/her), all in the nick of time. At the end of every year, we tell ourselves “next year will be different”, and we lay out tight deadlines to keep ourselves on track for the next year’s calendar. Well, this year was different, but in ways we could have never anticipated. As we watched one another navigate the many unexpected twists and turns (some joyful, some anything but) of the year, we found inspiration in one another. We’re just two gals (gnomes) doing their best, perhaps not dissimilar to you. We hope our 2026 calendar serves as a humble reminder to give yourself grace and kindness as you continue to fight the good fight and do your best in this unpredictable world.
Simple, pencil-crayon-like illustrations are reminiscent of drawings from childhood, when imaginations ran wild, free of inhibitions. And that’s what we want for you, too - to let your imaginations for the future stretch beyond the systemically oppressive status quo of the world as we know it.
Special shout out to Jillian, artist and dear pal of Marissa, who provided us with a calendar grid template, a print shop recommendation, an introduction to a gnome book that reignited Marissa’s previously depleted creative juices, and most notably, loads of love and encouragement. Jillian brought together a remarkable group of artists for her 2026 artist calendar, which you can see and order here.
SPECS:
- Individual, single-sided pages
- 8.5 × 11 inches
- Each month features a different illustration and haiku
- New and full moon dates noted
- Commemorative days and months noted
ART IS FOR EVERYONE:
Enjoying art has become a privilege in a society built on stolen land, white supremacy, and capitalism. If you see a piece you enjoy but the price is a barrier, pay what you can IS an option! Please send a direct message and I will do my best to get the piece to you in the least stressful way possible, no questions asked.
